Too Darned Hot!
I ordered food to go last week. I'm usually OK with medium spicy food but this was ridiculous! I ordered the Tandoori Lamb Chops (because of the rave reviews), Sag Paneer and Chicken Korma. All were the same degree of heat! Chicken Korma is supposed to be mild, not theirs! I've never had Sag Paneer that was that hot. I can deal with some spice when the menu indicates it and when I'm ordering it that way, but I've never had blazing hot Tandoori Lamb Chops. Everything was just too darned hot! I won't be going back!

good enough to come back for
fundamentally, a real treat when you want an inexpensive takeout. Highlight: lamb chops tanduri.

Excellent take out
Agree with previous posts: I've been ordering here for 4 years. Very good indian food with no pretence of being super high end: just exactly what you want when you need a nice curry or dahl soup. Having been to India, it seems relatively close to the real deal. Totally exceptional are the Tandoori Lamb chops which are marinated with a tangy something and are absolutely to die for. If you ask for spicy, you get spicy. Delivery is about 45 minutes and occasionally the food suffers from the wait. The foam containers that they use can actually soften up and so be careful when opening them: they can break and spill stuff everywhere.

Yummy and Cheap
The food is great here and about the cheapest Indian you'll find out there. I usually only get take-out because the interior isn't super-attractive but the people are nice there. I'll take it over the attitude of shown elsewhere.

Don't let the location fool you Al Hamra
OK, I avoided this place for about a year because it happens to be located within 1/2 a block from 16th & Mission BART and that area is just dirty. As soon as you cross through the door, the restaurant is CLEAN. Not a lot of atmosphere, but CLEAN. And the owners are very nice and the food is EXCELLENT. I've only had a few dishes, but they've all been great. The lunch special is so cheap. I find this restaurant way excels other places, way better staff and food!
