    Favorite neighborhood restaurant

This place is as good as it gets when it comes to the church street sector of noe valley. Food: they get the basics just right. and have several innovations that are worth trying out. Atmosphere: simple and clean... what more can you ask for for? Value: Of the other sushi joints in the noe valley, this place cost the least. yet, the quality of thier ingredients from the rice, to the vegies, to the fish are the best. Service: They have very good service. Ive ate here many times and have never been disappointed from their service. sometimes, i wonder if the owner is a little too hard on his staff... he is constantly telling his employees to do this and do that.

    Quality Sushi, Good Value

I have always had quality sushi from Amberjack. I will agree it is not a top tier SF sushi restaurant but I always leave pleased. You do get near top tier fish. I disagree with the reviewer who said the food was overpriced for what you get. I specifically go to Amberjack for the great value. I have yet to find any place cheaper that serves high quality fish. The chefs and waitresses are very friendly as well.

Good food but a bit overpriced

This is my neighborhood sushi joint; due to proximity rather than quality. In all though, it's a solid sushi place. Nothing sensational but no disappointments. People who work and run the place are quite nice. Which is another reason to keep coming back. Prices though are a bit over-the-top for what you get. But the place needs pay its bills I suppose. If you're in the Church/Noe neighborhood it's worthwhile, but nothing special to come great distances to check out.

    Good sushi

Overall pretty good sushi. Salmon kamikaze roll was especially good. Nice cheerful and airy atmosphere inside with bright walls. Waitress was very nice and friendly. Would definitely return for some solid sushi.
