Chinese Small plates and Comfort Food
Always passed by this strangely named cafe without going in figuring that it was a pretentious, upper scale bubble-tea joint. One night after a concert, this was the only place open thereabouts and we were starving. The menu is full of Chinese mother's kitchen classics such as drumstick noodles and porridge with lots of side orders for very cheap. We ordered the shredded pork and pickle vegetable noodle soup, ham and egg fried rice and simmered seaweed salad. The food, in very respectable portioins, was on our table in remarkable quick time, the staff very attentively brought extra bowls for us to share our food without us having to ask. For under twenty dollars. We had a fast, delicious, very satisfying meal in a very pleasant environment. Unlike other cheap Asian diners, this place was calm, the walls and lighting are soothing, not eye irritating and there is no uncomfortable "sticky" floor or table factor. I highly recommend dropping by to hangout with your friends as the environment is conducive to conversation.
