What a great find. We went here with our three year old son, and it was a hit with everyone! He loved the cheese pizza. We had a fantastic salad to share, and two terrific pasta choices. Very, very reasonably priced. Great mom and pop atmosphere. We would definitely become regulars if we were not visiting from out of town.

First of all, the restaurant is not really at Jones, but it's close to the street. It's just a bit further up the hill (away from Union Square). The best thing about the place is the price. They have what they call a mini-pasta which is $5.50, and a larger portion than many full portions at other restaurants. Seriously. When I saw the prices, I didn't expect much at all. But was really pleasantly surprised. The food is very good. The service is good too, as long as it's not too crowded. It's a family restaurant, with a very thin staff (which is a good thing keeps the prices low!). The food is slow in coming, so not the place to go when you're in a hurry.

Don't tell anyone about our secret, this is fast becoming my fav place for true Italian and hospitality. One warning: do NOT dine here when you're pinched for time and need to make the theatre, the service is very casual/European and you dine at a slow pace, with sweet but slow service. The food is second-to-non for authentic Venetian flair, and the prices are just to low to believe! Kitschy Venice is the decor theme and it's as cozy as any family owned restaurant you'd find among the canals of Venice itself. This is a treasure, their pasta is fresh, the polenta with mushrooms astounding, just don't be in a hurry to dine, sip the wine and smell the sauces. Hey, keep this under your hat, I don't want to have to wait for a table because you blabbed our secret, OK?

I needed to find a restaurant within walking distance of the York Hotel so friends and I could have a bite before a show at the Plush Room. I had passed this small restaruant on Post Street more than once while walking and decided to give it a try. A very lucky thing that I did. This place has excellent Italian food and is a real bargain for being only 3 blocks away from Union Square!! The food is absolutely delicious and I have returned since then. On the first visit I enjoyed their "Chicken Bella Venezia" which was exquisite. Bits of sauteed peppers, olives and prosciutto in a cream sauce over a very moist chicken breast; it was served with penne pasta in a Marinara sauce and also with steamed vegetables. The cost was something around $11.00!! On my second visit I tried their very good thin-crust Mozzarella pizzas; equally delicious. To our amazement a bottle of their "D'Oro Cabernet" was a mere $20.00!!! Run, don't walk, to this wonderful establishment. You won't be sorry! --Seriously!
