Chinese food of choice for lunch
I have a soft spot for hole-in-the-wall looking places with great food and Chef Jia's delivers. Honey Chili Chicken, Spicy Orange Peel Beef, and Five Spices Duck all excellent. The big, juicy house-made Pot Stickers could be a meal in themselves. Everything has always been terrific. I make a better Hot & Sour Soup, but still very good. There are two wait staff (sorry grottytourist, neither is the chef/owner). The man is taciturn, admittedly, but gets the job done. The woman is a solid 18%+ tip, always. Reasonable prices, especially for the quality.

Sorry but i was disappointed
read the glowing reviews of this place and went in hoping for at least a solid experience. waiter/owner (possibly) acted like we were an inconvenience from the start. everything he wrote down was as if we were "getting it all wrong" (we have actually had chinese food before), slung out unopened cans of soda without ice when some of us wanted drinks other than hot tea and then added himself a generous tip (for only 4 people) without any explanation. The honey chili chocken was tasty and most of the dishes were good, but the bill was literally twice what our next meal in sunset cost and not any better, plus the "volume" was about 1/2 what it was in sunset.

One of the better Chinese places
Lunch comes with rice and soup for less than 5 bucks. Been going here for years and consistently some of the best chinese food in all of San Francisco. Enjoy some honey chili chicken and wonder to yourself why the piles of tourists are lining up outside for 'that other place'.
