I work in SOMA, so this place has become a favorite. The dining atmosphere leaves much to be desired, but the food is outstanding. The place is clean, it's just very small, and the tables are very close, so private conversations are not an option. Their curries are always fantastic, and their stuffed angel wings appetizer rules! If you want some fairly priced Thai food from some friendly folks, give this joint a try.

Joyce and I have visited here a number of times, for lunch and dinner... we live in the sunset, where there are many many Thai restaurants to sample. However, CLG remains our favorite. Nothing polished, it's pretty but simple, and I love that the place is family-run, the staff is friendly, and everyone is anxious to please. They are also happy to point out the more native Thai dishes (check out the fish in banana leaves!) that they continue to keep on the menu along with the curries that Americans associate with Thai food. The portions are good (I'm so tired of leaving food on the table), you can always get brown rice instead of white, and everything seems reasonably priced. And the white wine is a bargain, perfect to go with aromatic spices. Ask for some fresh chilis if you're adventurous. The back patio is very groovy on a warm day, otherwise ask for the little secluded table inside. And always ask about the music playing, there will always be a good story behind it... Don't miss this!

the food is actually quite good, as is the service, but the portions are small and over-priced, especially for the mission. delivery is a big plus though, if you can afford it, or eat like a bird
