this place delivers and is just a few blocks away from us - so when we are feeling lazy, we call for delivery! the first time we ordered (a weekday night) our food came to us is less than 30 minutes! the tempura items were still hot and the raw fish was cold and fresh. this is our favorite sushi place in within a couple miles for sure! try the daniel and/or lily roll for sure.

This is the most amazing sushi restaurant. You can't go wrong with any of the roles that they offer. My all time favorite are simon, shrimp tempura churn fun, and tootsie. The flavors and textures are simply amazing. In fact I am heading there for dinner shortly. Can't wait! Thanks Herman :-)

My girlfriend and I tried this place out on a roommate's recommendation. We hadn't had sushi in a while, so we were in the mood to get as many different things as our stomachs could handle. The first thing they brought us was the edamame, which was just okay. But that was followed shortly thereafter by some absolutely amazing vegetable tempura. The batter was the most delicious and light I've had, surpassing Magnolia's onion rings easily. The tempura was followed by the shrimp churn fun, which we ordered on a whim. These rolls were incredible: the variety of flavors and textures present in every bite were savored with eyes closed and giant smiles on our faces. For our main course we orderd the 10-piece chef's choice, which was great. But frankly, after the shrimp churn fun, we couldn't have walked out dissatisfied. The service was great, with short waits and friendly waiters. As another reviewer mentioned, the atmosphere is a bit quirky with the cat paintings, but it doesn't take away from the food at all. Overall, I can't recommend this place highly enough. My girlfriend and I have a new favorite restaurant.

The staff at Chin are the VERY BEST! The rolls are incredible and the fish could not taste better. I would eat here five nights a week if I lived closer. The Shrimp Churn Fun and Simon Rolls cannot be beat and I've tried sushi in many different states and countries and CHIN beats every single one. Try it!! I promise you will not be let down by the food!!

If you are tired of paying a lot to be served just so-so sushi while being ignored by uber-trendy waitstaff in hip, noisy and sloooow sushi restaurants, come to Chen to get some quality sushi! They may have ugly (but hilarious) cat paintings on the wall, and it may be quiet, but it is the best dang sushi you will find in San Francisco! I judge a restaurant by the quality of its sake sashimi and my husband likes a crazy and original role...we both love being "regulars" here.
