we came from Brighton, England, to meet our daughter from New Zealand half way in San Francisco. We stumbled across Chow (Church street) after meeting her from the airport and it got our holiday off to a great start. Great atmosphere, friendly waiters and really good food (with good portions). We returned several times and it was always good. We would like a Chow in Brighton please.

Chow is one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. The atmosphere and service was very good, but the food tasted and looked like a microwaved frozen dinner. The portions were so small, I had to go to another restaurant across the street to actually get a meal. Chow is very expensive for what you get. Expect to spend $25 a person without drinks. Expect to spend another $10 at a deli to get something to eat. Quit possibly the worst restaurant I've ever had the displeasure of wasting time and money in.

We took a large group to Chow, including five teenagers, and everyone LOVED the food. The diversity of the menu was great, The prices were reasonable and the portions huge. My only complaint was the drinks were a little pricey. It was fun to walk through the Castro distrcit after dinner.

I have eaten here plenty of times. It's definitely a great place to take out of towners, b/c it has an "SF" vibe, and extremely reasonable prices, for the quality of the food. Also, check out the heated covered patio in the back of the restaurant for a little more quiet.

Great bacon sandwich! The pot roast is great too!
