    Well worth the wait

We had to wait in line about 40 minutes and actually considered leaving. We were so glad we didn't! We struck up a conversation with the people behind us and the time passed quickly. The food was fabulous with great homemade bread and generous portions.

    Awesome

Loved it! Got there by 830 on a weekday, well worth the 15 minute wait. Could have sat immediately at the counter, little did we know it was a cool seat ,being able to watch the open food production. Cant imagine you would be disappointed

The food is definitely worth the wait. If you ever go to SF please visit Kurt at Dottie's.

    Great Place

July 18, 2010, waited 45 minutes, was worth the wait. Lamb fennel omelette was excellent, service was very good, owner/cook is terrific. Small diner, atmosphere is ok, but the food is the best. Daily specials are incredible. You can't go wrong eating here. A must to experience the city.

    Best Place in the City

I waited in line for an hour to eat at Dotties my first time. The whole time I was being reassured by a woman in front of me that it was well worth the wait. She was right. This was the best breakfast I have ever had. I had a remarkable warm cozy feeling the whole time I was there. The staff is unbelievably funny and nice and Kurt is efficient and personable. I went back and ordered take-out the next two days of my visit. I would recommend Dotties as a must experience when visiting San Francisco. And don't forget to thank the chef! He cooks all the food, totals all the bills, and answers the phones!

Anytime I'm in SF, this is my breakfast spot!

I always love coming here for breakfast, no matter the line. One of the things that really puts this place over the top for me is how quickly the wonderful food is served from kitchen to table. My pancakes arrived so hot, I actually had to wait to take my first bite. Food not being served at the correct temperature is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to restaurants. Dottie's knows how to keep me coming back!

    Not worth the wait

The restaurant is small, but clean & cozy. The servers are down-to-earth friendly. Unlike what most people say, however, the food really isn't that great--I would call it carefully planned out, but taste average. I wouldn't wait in line to eat here again. Spending $33 for two people, on an average quality breakfast is a little too expensive. If you do plan to go, I would advise that you go early on a weekday morning to avoid the long line.
