Unbelieveable!
I am not by nature a patient person when it comes to eating and lines. We waited almost 2 hours on Saturday to get in and it was worth every minute. The food was amazing and the choices were so plentiful and varied, it was hard to decide. The service was terrific. We sat at the counter and I was amazed at the efficiency, calm demeanor, and frendliness of the chef/owner. This is an experience I would do over and over...no matter how long the line.

Best Breakfast Ever!
What an amazing breakfast! Totally worth the wait. Creative cuisine, fabulous service in a funky, relaxing atmosphere. A San Francisco Institution. A must.

Will Always Eat Here When I'm in SF
I just LOVED everything about this place. After standing in line for 25 minutes I was halfway to the door, maybe 15 people still in front of me. The waitress came out and asked if there was anyone eating by themselves and I quickly raised my hand. I squeezed in on a stool at the end of counter and instantly loved the ambience of the place. Small and crowded yet people didn't seem to care, they were all happily chatting and eating. It felt so homey and warm and the workers were friendly. My breakfast was a frittata with tomatoes, feta cheese, avocado and bits of portuguese sausage and it was the best meal in SF I've ever tasted! The bread had a scone -like texture which the cook threw on a buttered grill. It came out nice and crispy and crunchy - awesome stuff! The meal also included pan-fried hashed potatoes that was seasoned perfectly. That with my cup of coffee was the perfect way to start my late morning. And it only took less than ten minutes for my order to get done. That sole cook really has a handle on everything. I'd show you all a picture but I can't load one up here. Anyway, I just have to say that any and every time I'm in SF I will have a meal at Dottie's. I LOVE this place that much.

Review of Dottie's
I agree with other reviews. This breakfast place is small, but has a fantastic breakfast. The coffee was decent as well which is a rarity.

Best breakfast I've ever had!
Have visited San Francisco quite a few times and we always go to Dottie's. The food is incredible even if you do have to wait in line (it's a tiny place). The staff is always interesting too!

A reason to come back
Dottie's has the best breakfast going and now that I am in New York, I crave their blueberry cornmeal pancakes, and it's going on two years now.
