The BEST Chinese food in San Francisco!!
A good friend recommended Eric's as having "The best Chinese food in San Francisco" and I couldn't agree more! My family is always on a quest for new Chinese restaurants and Eric's has won the prize in SF!

Pretty good, quite greasy
Perhaps we had too high of expectations after reading all the reviews, but we did not think that Eric's was all that amazing. Chinese food tends to be saturated in greasy sauces which allows for the flavorful experience, but our food was way too greasy and the flavors were rather typical. The claim that it is the best in the bay is a tough one to comprehend.

Hands Down the BEST Chinese in the Bay!
There's nothing like Eric's. The food is always FRESH and always DELICIOUS. Great menu (including brown rice!!) with lots of vegetarian options to choose from - Shainghai Tofu is fantastic and the veggie eggplant dish is amazing - the only one that rivals is is the eggplant from Tommy Toys, and for the price at Eric's you just can't get anything better. The Hunan fish and Jade Tofu dishes are also great, but my personal favorite is the Mango Prawns - I sometimes think about trying something different and then always go back for this - so YUMMY! Only thing I would like to see on the menu that they don't have is a veggie pot sticker. Try Eric's, you'll LOVE it! - it's the BEST Chinese you'll find in the bay area!

Why oh why is this so popular?
Many dishes taste the same, too much soy sauce. Flat flavors. Nice atmosphere and edible, but overpriced and claims to be much more than is.

Busy joint
Eric's is always crowded and as a result, the waiters really rush you through your meal so don't expect any leisurely dining. That being said, the food is pretty good. The hoison string beans are very good, as it the moo-shu and chicken with eggplant and shrimp. The potstickers and egg rolls are good start. Pretty inexpensive but the rushed atmosphere might make you consider take out.

Eric's is the best!
I love Eric's. It's absolutely my favorite Chinese restaurant in San Francisco. Sadly, since I live on the east coast now, I can't satisfy my cravings for Shanghai tofu. I've been a vegetarian for over 12 years now, and Eric's Shanghai tofu ranks among my top 3 tofu experiences ever. Go to Eric's. You won't be sorry.
