    Amazing...

I was taken here while visiting friends in SF...I'm from the south and never believe that you can get that kind of "good food" anywhere but there...I was so mistaken...this place is amazing...atmosphere was out of this world, wait staff was extremely attentive and the food...I could go on and on for days...it's a MUST DO when going to SF...

Great Food and Even Better Service

My boyfriend and I went to Farmer Brown last Thursday on our way to a show at the Orpheum. We were running a tad late, but I'm not one to push people around, so I politely asked if there happened to be any tables available. The hostess was very nice and asked if we had a reservation (which we didn't), and she still managed to get us a table, and rather quickly at that. I felt bad because we were only able to try a couple of dishes, but what we had was absolutely delicious. I was born and raised on the west coast and have been to the south only a handful of times, so as far ad authenticity goes, I am no expert. That being said, I definitely know good food when I'm eating it. The gumbo had a savory broth with seafood flavors that weren't overpowering. The special soup that night was butter nut squash, and it really hit the spot with its sweet cinnamon and rich flavors. We also tried the Caesar salad which was two wedges topped with a tangy dressing and of course two anchovies. The salad was light and refreshing. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was so attentive and polite. The food came quickly, as did the check and we were out of there in about 40 minutes. I definitely plan to return for a second taste.

    Smokin' Soulfood in San Fran

I am a native southerner and love the soulfood of Farmer Brown's. The staff has that southern hospitality with plenty of smiles (a winner with me). I especially love the fried chicken, yams and steak. It has a wonderful atmosphere with down home soulfood. It's a winner everytime!
