One of our favorites anywhere!
Food is excellent and staff is great. Our first visit was in 2002 on our honeymoon. We came back on a trip to SF in 2008 and went back. Honestly, with so many good places in SF to eat and only a few days in town, we were determined not to go here, but missing this would have been a mistake. If you're in town only infrequently, or if you're a local looking for a great spot, you just have to give this place a try. You won't regret it.

Fino is now "Our Place"
Discovered on Yelp. This restaurant was not a dissapointment. My boyfriend and I had a blast, and the server was extremely helpful with recommendations. We took full advantage of the different courses from the tasty complimentary bread to the rich flavorful cappucino at the end of our meal. Very pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. Tiramisu is the best I've ever had. Seriously. Will recommend this restaurant to friends and co-workers. What a gem!

Delicious, hidden jewel!
We were just wandering blindly around Union Square and almost literally stumbled across Fino. Hard to find, behind the hotel up the alley... but once you get there you feel like you have your own personal little restaurant. I gave atmosphere 4.5 ONLY because it gets a bit cramped, though I probably should put it back up to 5 because its size is what adds to its appeal. You can tell food is cooked JUST for you, not in batches. The portions are sizable and the prices are reasonable. You leave with both tummy and wallet quite full! Very nice service, if you have to wait for a table they update you periodically. When seated, you feel like you are the only ones there, despite close proximity of other tables. Romantic, as when my fiance and I first went... but also good for business entertaining as we did the second time we went (a year apart, so they are consistent!). Impressed our guests. DON'T FEAR THE ENTRANCE-- it is strange, but it is perfectly safe, and worth the trip!! Plus, it usually keeps tourists (like me!) away! Enjoy!

Great place
Great little spot with good food, moderately priced with great service. I send people there all the time and haven't heard back a negative word back. Charles, the GM, is a wonderful, hospitable host that makes you feel at home. Hard to beat!
