    Good for special occassions

My boyfriend and I went here for our 1 year aniversary. We wanted a special night out that we could afford. The food was wonderful the atmosphere was wonderful. We had a fun and relaxing night.

    mediocre

the service was okay. the food was mediocre at best. the dozen miyagi oysters i had were tasty and fresh, but from the raw bar. i can't say as much about the value of the kitchen. i had a chicory salad that was 'good' at BEST, not amazing, certainly not worth the price considering the mission district offers a slew of more affordable and better tasting options. also - the decor feels uninspired (very pottery barn with tons of beige...a bit american rustic for a 'foreign' cinema, right?). also - the english patient was playing. last time i checked that was not a foreign film.

    Best unknown restaurant in SF

Was in SF for 7 days and ate there twice for dinner. One of my new favorite restaurants ever .

    A Fun Place

Great for something different. Love to take out of town guests here. They love it and never had a bad experience. One of my favorites.

    Can't eat ambience.

What a unique and fun restaurant with gorgeous lighting, white table cloths, beautiful flowers and an old movie playing on a white brick wall. It was bustling. The menu is creative and the food tasty, but the prices are huge and the portions tiny. I had bouillabaisse which was served in a regular sized soup bowl with bite sized pieces of fish and one scallop. Our guests ordered salmon and duck. They enjoyed their food but the plates looked empty when served. We did enjoy our knowledgeable waiter.
