AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!
I went to this restaurant while visiting SF from New York City. What a delight! A true "mom and pop" italian restaurant. The food was amazing all of "pop" recipes! The service was amazing as well we were helped by mom, pop, and their grandson! We started with the bruschetta and had fettucini alfredo and spagetti carbonara! Fantastic!! Everything was reasonably priced and delicious! Not to mention mom and pop were so personable and made certain our experience was fantastic! I was only in san fran one night, but if i had another i'd probably eat there again!

One of the best !
On vacation in San Fran from the east coast, we wanted to have a great Italian meal. We finaly chose Franchino on Columbus it was not a disapointment! This restaurant is very small, but the owners are very nice and greet you with a smile. Food choice is awesome & the pasta was cooked perfectly. I suggest the Aribiata and the meat sauce with penne. They also have a good selection of wine. We loved it so much that we are going back during our vacation for a second time! It's one of the greatest Italian we've had in a long time and definitely the best in SF on our trip!

Completely Agree
My cousin came to visit and she wanted to eat "Italian in North Beach." Based on the reviews, we chose Franchino. Great meal! I have a new favorite Italian restaurant. I got the vegetable risotto with tomato sauce and my cousin says the Minestrone is the best she's ever had.

Great!!
My girlfriend and I went to north beach just looking for a place to get some good Italian food. Franchino's was the only place not completely full and it turned out to be amazing! She had the Salmon with prosciutto and I had the veal parmigiana. The sauce covering the salmon was superb and the veal was tender and very flavorful. As an appetizer we had the muscles which were served in a cioppino-like sauce. With a bottle of wine (fontana candida pino grigio), it was about 80...very reasonable considering what we ordered.

Exactly what I wanted/expected
(Based on a review here, we went to Franchino.) The owners/operators are friendly and attentive, so the service is spot-on. The food is great and authentic. My wife and I came in with our 8mo old and his stroller, and even though this place is small, they were very accomodating and we were instantly made comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Best restaurant i've been to in my life
I've traveled to a lot of places and eaten a lot of great meals, none were better than at Franchino's. Family friends took us there the night after we got engaged on the Wharf, and it was just an unbelievable meal with a great atmosphere, if you go to one place in SF, make it this!

A fun place where you feel "at home"
As former residents of SFO, we visit often and make it a point to enjoy the friendship and dining at Franchino's. The family members make you feel welcome, will accommodate your dining tastes and make your evening special. We enjoy bringing guests and everyone is always made to feel at home. One of the best values in the City and a fun time for all.
