    Wonderful food and service!

As an out of town visitor to San Francisco it is always overwhelming with the number of great restaurants to choose in this city. My niece is a vegan, my other niece is a vegetarian, my sister is bi-curious and I am a pescitarian - we all enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service here immensely. We will be visiting here often again on future visits to be sure!

    Awesome.

With the exception of an extremely strong pesto pasta and some overcooked eggplant, Herbivore proved to be EXCELLENT. Our server was very nice and funny and accomadating, and made good recommendations. If you have the opportunity, order dessert. My favorites are the fruit kebab and rhubarb pie, with creamy vegan vanilla ice cream. A really friendly, casual place. We left stuffed =)

    Yummy Brunch style food!

Whenever I travel to SF I try to go to Herbivore. The staff is friendly, atmosphere is nice (try eating in the back) and food superb. If you are a meathead you will still have a great meal as their brunch style foods with faux meats will not leave you wanting. Their pancakes are delicious and everything is served with a little extra something making it a very wonderful dining experience.

    Carnivores like it too!

I go here with meat-eating friends and havent heard any complaints yet. The sandwiches are great - thats what I usually go for there - its a good place to get take out too. The service can be a little slow sometimes, but the servers are always nice. Dont miss the spring rolls!

    Vegetarian Delight

Herbivore boasts a complete menu consisting of many dishes from various regional cuisines. Some of my favorites include the many tofu and eggplant dishes prepared with authentic spices and savory sauces. Their servings are quite plentiful and can be split into two if needed. Herbivore has a great selection of beers that provide a great compliment to their many dishes. Their service is average, sometimes slow depending on the crowd. An outdoor enclosed patio located in the rear of the restaurant is illuminated to set a pleasant atmosphere among the busy street of Divisadero. This is great place to go before crossing the street to the "Independent" where live shows and various artists perform for a small venue.
