A Hidden Treasure
Howard's has been around for decades serving up truly high quality well prepared diner/ comfort food. It isn't doesn't look that exciting or inviting. It looks a bit spare and early 60's vintage as far as decor. I am glad it doesn't attact people b/c there is a steady clientele of repeat customers who know that they will eat consistently delicious food here. I have always been partial to the Hamburgers and French Dip Sandwich. The side salads are always really fresh and include vegetable sticks as garnish. Soups are wonderful as well. The daily specials vary from things like Meatloaf, Pork Chops, Beef Stroganoff and Lasagne. They also serve a seriously delicious Hot Turkey Sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. Breakfast is available all day. Howard's is open everyday but they close around 9pm on weekdays and earlier on weekends. This place is best enjoyed in the afternoon to early evening before the daily specials sell out and the dessert offerings Howard's features fresh baked desserts to die for, but get there before the daily specials are all sold out and the desserts choices are available. Not fancy but downhome yummy!
