joanies is ok
Joanies is ok. The food is copious, the service is ok and the atmosphere basically sucks. But if you want a good, fast meal, you can't beat it.

Homestyle food
My girlfriend and I were recommended by our friends to Joanie's during a visit to San Francisco. We were surprised at how friendly the service was. We waited for a table for 10 minutes (the place was packed), but it was well worth the wait. The employees were attentive and the food was delicious. During our three day stay, we came every morning for the omelettes and their waffles. I recommend the banana nut waffle, which was topped with walnuts and sliced bananas. If you're into eggs, I'd try their combo omelette or the California. We will definitely come back again. Try this place! You won't be disappointed.

Diner food is Diner Food
This place was recommended to me, as a chef, i am curious, and alwasy seeking, good, new, interesting, fun places to eat. It is a diner, that is not very attractive and could use a little houekeeping. I ordered the waffles, unfortunately, it appeared to str8 out of a waffle box. The bacon was deep fried, so long, the excess grease was literally, ozzing onto the plate. I am not one to easily disappoint, But, my recommendations as a chef, this is not a great place.

Fresh Food
I had their pancakes and their waffles. They're actually made of real fruit and it's really good!
