We missed the energy and excitement we had experienced in the past of the waiters and waitresses. The service was really bad as if the waitresses were too tired to be up-beat.

We were in San Francisco on business and after driving for over an hour we decided on Joes Crab Shack. OMG $35 for a bucket of crab? Haha more like 3 skinny legs that were like rubber, they were impossible to crack. You could tie the leg in a knot (they were that flexible)! The sampler plate: another joke! Looked nothing like the pic. The crab dip was fishy and tasted basically like fishy cream cheese. I believe we counted 5 calamari rings and a handful of broken up chips. I bought my daughter's friend Fish & Chips (at waitress's request) and talk about gross! McDonald's has a better Filet of Fish. The texture of this fish was rubbery & yet firm. It was disgusting. We told the waitress and all she replied was "so should I take your plate or would you like a box?" Never ever would I go back or recommend this place. Hardest money I have ever had to pay. Yuck!

We decided to eat at Joe's thinking how can you go wrong but we were badly mistaken. First, the service was so slow and although our server was really nice and friendly it didn't make up for the wait time and the food quality. We waited over an hour for the food and we were practically the only ones in there so the kitchen wasn't swamped with orders. When the food arrived, it was overcooked and overseasoned. I had the crak cake sandwich and the crab was dried out and way too salty. There also wan't much in terms of quantity either and they charged over $12! I will never eat there again which is sad because I've always wanted to eat here and heard some good things but I'll be scratching this restaurant off my list.

I've never met a shrimp I didn't like and the Crab Shack doesn't disappoint. I had coconut shrimp, hush puppies and my daughter had the shrimp alfredo. The shrimp and hush puppies were perfectly cooked and non-greasy. My daughter's plate was well seasoned with pasta that was cooked just right. There was a nice view from our window table. The only negative I found was the loud which made it hard for us to talk but the point here is to eat. And well. Other diners seemed to be enjoying their meals; the crab pots looked awesome!
