I have been coming here for 5 years. It is an upscale diner. We love this place. It maybe it isn't the best food but it is a solid value. Great service and good food. The menu is diverse and I've never had a bad meal here.

I've had several business meetings there for Sunday lunch and we have all liked the food, service, QUIET and very convenient parking. There is no music, so it's very good for business meetings or for just a quiet place to talk and enjoy good food. This is not an upscale place for $20 for a tuna sandwich, but a local restaurant for locals. It does get very busy and noisier for Sunday dinner, with waiters and waitresses rushing around, which detracts from the easy-going atmosphere of Sunday lunches. God bless America and the Lakeside Cafe too!

My wife and I frequent cozy Lakeside Cafe due to it's consistently good food and friendly service. Other pluses include ample street parking, and low noise rating. We used to visit The Boulevard Cafe in Daly City (same owners), but it was too large, noisy and parking was difficult. Lakeside's house salad is both delicious and generous. We love their fish dinners, and appreciate it when they are agreeable to substituting some items.

Very warm and inviting, comfortable, some dishes on their menu are outstanding, some excellent, and some very good...best wait staff in town, attentive but not annoying. I think they give good value for the price of the meal. I have had dinner for two and it probably cost maybe $5 more than eating at some a chain restaurant,. I have never been made to feel that I need to exit my table fast when done, as some restaurants do. I actually relax completely when I am there...and that is a good thing!

I was very impressed by my sunset dinner tonight ($13.95 for NY steak, otherwise $12.95, including choice of soup or salad). As I waited on the bench for 5 minutes inside the door, I noticed that the friendly hostess recognized most of the patrons. I had the NY steak sunset dinner (served 5 to 7 pm). The salad was a generous serving of green leaf lettuce mixed with spring mix, topped with long, thin shreds of grated cheese. The dill vinaigrette coated the leaves but did not pool at the bottom of the plate. The 8-oz. grilled steak was tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned. Served with it: bright green but tender slices of zucchini, a sprig of bright green broccoli, and al dente carrots, plus a mound of peppery mashed potatoes. Friendly, efficient wait staff. Easy diagonal street parking. White tablecloths and napkins. This restaurant seems to be a favorite of the neighborhood locals. I would bring friends back here.

I've been to this restaurant many times over the past years, and it's always been a great experience. Food and service are consistently very good, and the atmosphere is quiet enough to hear everyone sitting at your table, while still being a good place to take the family out to eat. Early bird specials are great for the value.
