We were there the other night. Must say food was great service was very slow. On a table of six we each got a part of our order in 15 minute intervals very slow. And the ambiance was very loud. To loud to talk to your party unless you literally yelled. Unfortunately the experience was not a good resturant experience, not enough to make up for the good food.

I used to like this place and I still like their side dishes and the atmosphere and drinks. However, the past two times that I eat there, I order the acclaimed roasted chicken and to my disappointment the chicken was really gummy and red inside...I ended up leaving almost all the chicken on the plate because it was uneatable. I am only writing this as a constructive criticism, since I would really like to support this business and I hope that the new Limon on 3rd Street is successful since we really need more good restaurants around the Bay View! :)

This was our first time to Limon. On-line reviews raved about the food, the service and the atomsphere. As his gift to us for the holidays, my nephew tooks us to Limon's last night. He had made reservations for 5:00 p.m., 10 days earlier. When we arrived, the restaurant didn't have our reservation and the first floor of the restaurant was pretty much empty. There was only a couple of folks seated at tables. The hostess went to another employee and apparently told him there was a problem. He came to us and asked us, "is there a problem?" We said, "no, we had made a reservation and we were witing for a table." He rudely replied, "I don't see your reservation, maybe your reservation is for another restaurant?" He then walked away. The hostess came back and seated us. Although the table service was above average, the food service was very slow and definitely not worth the 19% fixed service charge for our party of six. The food was way too salty. By the time we left around 7:30 p.m., the crowd had picked up but there was no line of people outside or in the restaurant waiting for a table.

limon has become one of my favorite restaurants in san francisco after my dinner there this past weekend. on a sunday night it was not very busy, but there were a good amount of people there. the service was phenomenal. i went with my father and the waiter was so helpful to us in describing the menu to two people unfamiliar with peruvian cuisine. he even brought me some extra things from the kitchen free of charge just because he thought i should try them! the lomo saltado was delicious albeit a bit on the heavy side and the foie gras and scallop appetizer i had was absolutely to die for. i would come back again just for that! i would recommend this restaurant to anyone. love that it's in the hip mission district.

On Saturday 10/22/06, I drove 2 hours to have dinner in this restaurant, after heard good things about this place. After I visited this place, my experience is; a bad place to go, very bad area, hard to fine parking in a safe street and also the food and server did not meet the expectation, overoll family busness in mission district, there are better taquerias around with better price and service.

Wow - what a find! I had heard good things about Limon but didn't expect it to be so out of this world! The service was amazing, the food was phenomenal, and the wine was delicious. I went for dinner with my boyfriend at 9:30pm on a Friday night. I had a reservation and there was no wait - we were seated promptly and greeted by a tremendous waiter. He knew everything about each item on the menu and took time describing each of the appetizers to us before we made any decisions. I recommend the pork chop plate - although I'm sure everything is great. Five stars!

We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday without a reservation but were able to get a table. The service was extremely friendly and the portions were large. My wife and I both ended up taking home half of our entrees. It was getting a little crowded as we left and the servers appeared a bit harried. Everything about our meal was great.
