    Where is the love?

Went to Lori's after the movies with a friend for a bite to eat. Had a little trouble getting the order right because the server didn't speak english so well. Never been there so we both started with Caesar salads. The portion was small for $8.00, lettuce was wilted and brown no cheese and the croutons weretotaly from a box. As we began to eat our sad salads my friend said "this is not an 8 dollar salad". I don't like to complain so when we got our food I just shut up and eat my French Dip (A Lori"s specialty). The bread was old and hard, the meat portion was very small & the Au Jus was watered down and seemed from a can, yuk! I chocked down the first half but was not able to bite through the bread on the second half. When I complained the manager got all pissed at me, (she would make a better prison warden). I had them take it away, no offer to make it right, ,no (we're sorry), nothing, just dirty looks from the manager. They did offer to bring me something else but I would have to pay. Never going back to Lori's and don't recommend it. No love in that kitchen just slapping it together.

    terrific corned beef hash

The reviewer who complained about a small portion must have struck a nerve, because I ordered the corned beef hash three times in three days and enjoyed each meal. Lori's corned beef is cut into small chunks, steamed with diced potatoes and green onions, and piled up like a mountain on your plate. Even if your server is busy, others come by at regular intervals to refill your coffee cup. Although Lori's has a tired look about it, don't be conned into trying the slick looking place two doors down. For good food, Lori's is the genuine article.

    small portion, poor service

I just returned home from from lori's diner on mason hungry, angry and out 25 dollars. Ordered "San Francisco's best corned beef hash" only to receive the smallest portion of undercooked potato, with a few pieces of meat mixed in that was barely room temp. the two eggs they put on top covered the 10 bites of food underneath. For 11 dollars you should receive a hearty portion, especially when potato is your base. When i explained to the waitress that the other locations portion was much larger and almost worth the 11 bucks she told me there was nothing she could do and walked away. I heard another family complaining about the portion size at the mason location as i was leaving as well.

    Great Experience

I popped in after work one day to have a burger and fries. It was delicious.... and their milkshakes are the best. Service was very good. Very fast. Reasonable prices. I took a seat at the little bar/ counter along the window looking out onto the st. It has great atmosphere :)
