    "Lucky Creation" Indeed!

I've lived here nearly all of my life and have beared witness to the closing of two (out of three) vegetarian restaurants in Chinatown. One of them was New Lotus. The other, I no longer remember the name of. However, Lucky Creation has hung on and, no doubt, is drawing revenue from fans of the Chinatown vegetarian restaurants it used to rival. It's no wonder why! I've read reviews of people complaining about the crowds many times. But that's what makes it Chinatown! Not only that, but if there's crowds, that must be there for a reason (and hopefully the large fan base keeps it from closing down)! I've also heard people complain about some dishes being "runny" or too "slimy." But that's also a trademark of Chinese cooking ;). If you don't like it, don't go there --- leave us goopy-food-rice-and-noodle-loving people to it all. Your wasting our precious room :P! I do have to admit I stay clear of their claypots (I've tried two different ones and didn't like either --- but maybe I just don't like claypots in general!), as well as that the Hot and Sour Soup is poorly done. But I love everything else. The fake-chicken fried rice is to die for, the Three-mushroom Chow Mein (though I switch the chow mein for chow fun) is excellent, the Pork Buns and the Sticky Rice Buns are great and the Walnut "Soup" is absolutely divine! The Walnut Soup is not on the menu, but you can ask for it. They have very convincing and good faux-meat (I love the Turnip Cake [vegan version of taro cake] and the Taro Fish [even though it doesn't taste like fish, it's still good!] ) All in all, this place fits in perfectly at the heart of Chinatown and I wouldn't have it any other way. A "Lucky Creation" indeed!
