Best Mexican in the area by far
Agree with the note about the salsa amazing! If it's too hot, ask them to bring some mild salsa, not as good but still quite serviceable. Two major items of note: Wednesday only: Fish tacos (best I've had) Friday only: Crab enchiladas (try mixing one crab & one chicken - the sauces provide an incredible sensation!) They also make some of the best chile rellenos in the state. If all you want is a taco or a burrito, there are plenty of decent choices out there. If you want REAL Mexican food, then you've got to try Orale.

Seriously, nobody mentioned their salsa?
The Mexican food here is average, but their salsa is AMAZING. Maybe the best I have ever had, and that is coming from a person who has eaten at scores of Mexican restaurants and even lived in Mexico. It may be a little too spicy for some people though. I also want to mention that IMO the Mission gets a little TOO much credit for Mexican food. Yes, there are great Mexican restaurants there, but some are very average too and their are a lot of good Mexican restaurants not located in the Mission. The Mission deserves credit for Mexican food, but not the infallible reputation it has achieved through popular San Francisco lore.

Nothing Special
Orale Orale is nothing more than a decent, generic, nothing-special place to get Mexican-ish food in the financial district. There's nothing bad about them, but nothing great either. Their burritos are good, but not stand-out. Their tacos are decent, but you never get the urge to eat one more. The staff is pleasant, the restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is what you'd expect of a Financial District lunch place - noisy and a little hectic. This is the kind of place that kills La Salsa and other chains, but if it were in the Mission, or anywhere close to a real taqueria, they would go out of business in a heartbeat.

Best Value in the Embarcadero Area
This place is awesome. it gets really busy and noisy at lunch time. everything feels authentic; the red sauces are outstanding. Meet quality is above-par for the local family-run Mexican places. I don't know anyone that dislikes this place.
