Nice food, nice experience
We were looking for a good Italian meal (haven't found a great Italian place in Denver) and so we researched North Beach. We thought the food was delicious. Between us, we had the tres pasta, salads and the eggplant parm appetizer. Everything was exceptional. They comped us tiramisu for dessert!

worth the walk
My family including 2 children ate here on a recommendation from the concierge at the Sheraron. It was a little bit to walk but the food was fresh and delicious. I had the tres paste and it was incredible. It was a nice variety and was just enough to feel satisfied. I ordered a Bellini and it was only $3 so that was a nice surprise. Overall we would definitely seek this restaurant out next time we are in San Francisco. It was worth the walk!

From a local
This is my favorite restaurant in North Beach without a doubt! The old world charm just makes you think you have stepped into a sidwalk bistro in Florence! The staff is great and obviously know their Italian which just adds to the experience. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. I agree, it tends to be a little more the fun, urban 30's crowd, but then again, that's why I love it so! Great place to go on a date!

Awesome!
OK! To all people who left negative feedback, please go elsewhere, if you love to get a little taste of Europe welcome! If you are age of 40 and older plus boring, please again, go elsewhere, let us.. younger generation enjoy food, people, loud music, italian guys and ladies! They treat each customer very personal, I'm a regular customer, I drive one hour just to go to this restaurant! No complaints!

From Phoenix
When ever my husband and I visit San Fran, we always make it a point to have either lunch or dinner at Panta Rei. it is by far the best Italian place in San Fran to eat and the atmosphere is very welcoming and fun. We have always ordered something different with every visit and have always had an excellent meal every time. Good Italian food is hard to find here in Phx so I make my own which we like best however, I say give Panta Rei a try.

no thanks
food was standard if not bad (stale bread), staff's poor english = mediocore service. not worth the price. the only good thing about it is the location. pleasant to sit and perhaps for a drink but don't eat here.

Eh
Nothing special in their menu, and what I ate I can eat in any cheap italian restaurant. I wouldn't like to think it is Italian people stuff, but I will take care with these people next time.
