Disappointing Chile Rellenos
Was excited about going, again, for dinner to Playa Azul. Was craving Chile Rellenos and thought this would be the best place in town for them. Was extremely disappointed when they arrived. So much egg - small, under-roasted chile with lots of the peeling still on it. And way too much cheese - and it being the wrong kind of cheese. You use queso fresco (cacique) not cheddar in authentic rellenos. But every other item I've had on the menu over the years has been the best! An S.B. native, who's been going to Playa Azul since before it relocated from the corner of that block.

5+.... you don't need to be Mexican
You don't have to be Mexican to like this food. If you are looking for good seafood... this is the place. Great service and the atmosphere is always festive. They sometimes have Mariachi on the weekends... it's so good that it's always busy, specially dinner on the weekends. Check it out.
