I miss World Sausage Grill...
I love sausage. As my boyfriend likes to say, I have "a deep and abiding love of sausage." Bratwurst, merguez, maple breakfast - you name it. I *love* sausage. And so when my favorite place evah (World Sausage Grill at Church & Market) closed a few months ago, I was forced to find a new sausage joint. This little place is the only substitute, and it is a sad, pale one at that. Sure, there is sausage. But World Sausage had about 50 varieties, and Rosamunde has a paltry - what? 14? They also have very limited condiments: just onions, peppers, and kraut. None of those go very well with some of the more interesting or delicate sausages (kraut on duck/fig sausage? Yuck!). It's on Haight Street, which is automatically annoying. The service is fine - a little hip for my liking, but fine. And you can get your sausage to eat next door at Toronado if that's your thing. I loved World Sausage because they had their own selection of Beers of the World. They were also much more inviting for dine-in. Rosamunde, I will begrudgingly consume your weiners. But know that I will never, never love you.
