Couldn't agree with you more!
That place made me feel weird when i went in. i was one of those unsuspecting USF kids trying to get off campus to study... apparently didn't go far enough away. atmosphere is simply poor. the service wasn't great either, but that was a little while ago.

Disappointed
I mean, how do you ruin a bagel? Sacred Grounds does it. I had a sesame bagel with lox and cream cheese, and it was not good at all. I feel bad, but it's true. Not only was this a subpar bagel, it was a $6 subpar bagel. I almost gave service 0 stars, too, but there's a couple of nice gals who work at the counter who seem mostly aware of how the food is. They plead you with their big, wide eyes: "please don't eat the food. I will make you a decent coffee, but do not eat here." Oh, and don't get coffee here, unless you're pretty desperate. Atmosphere is also weird: lots of old Haight-Ashbury kinds of tchochkes, USF kids studying and drinking poor coffee, and a hippie open mike event every once in a while. Just not my thing.
