Hits and misses at this vegetarian place but the fries were quite tasty

They have the best oven baked mushroom pizza ever. The weather was perfect for sitting outside and they had heaters to make it more comftable for those of us from Miami. The homemade ketchup for dipping the long thin fries was the best I ever tasted. The atmosphere is relaxed and you are charged with positive energy when you leave. The owners are always there making sure everything is done right

I want to love thisplace. I really do. The pizza is great, but I don't really want pizza. The vegie burgeris delicious, but I don't want to eat burgers either. I liketo eat salads and vegetable entrees. This whole section of the menu needs work and needs to be more Californiaized. jarred hoisin sauce or plum sauce? Come on! I'd like a large salad for dinner, made with a refined balsemic or sherry vinegar dressing, some goat cheese and avacado in it, etc. The salad I tried was small, cost $10.00 and was made with cheap apple or red wine vinegar. Itwas not refined, filling or wonderful in any way. Sorry, boys, you are nice, but has anyone at this restaurant ever cooked real vegetarian (not faux meat) food before? Please hire an experiencedvegetarian chef with a refined palate. Then you will have great success.

I think Source may have my favorite veggie burger in all of SF. It's a house made patty that's perfectly textured (not too mushy or too grainy) cooked with a crispy exterior and served in thick warm pita they bake in house. The fries it comes with were crispy and delicious. Another stand out was the pizza. We had "da bronx" and it was simply amazing. Perfect wood fired crust, amazing HOME MADE burrata style mozzarella cheese and a zesty sauce. The service is also excellent and the owners are very kind and caring people who check in to make sure everything is perfect. Vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike will find a myriad of delicious opti0ns. Looking forward to trying the lasagna next.

Source is a great new vegetarian (mostly vegan) restaurant with a unique atmosphee. It has a variety of menu options - something for everyone, veg or not. We had the fondue appetizer, which was amazing, though I think a more interesting dipping bread option would be nice (it comes with basic pita - how about a nice herbed focaccia as well?). We also had the skewers (just delicious - omnivores will be amazed!), and the taco pizza. Taco pizza sounded a little strange, but it was great! I think they should ofter a vegan nachos option with a similar topping as the taco pizza (but with more vegan nacho cheese.) They should also offer a vegan mac n'cheese. Not vegans can get great mac and cheese everywhere, but it will keep the vegans coming back again and again to have top notch vegan comfort foods they have while dining out. The desserts were all very good, the chocolate mousse was divine and rich with subtle nutty and cocoa flavors, and the giant chocolate chip cookies taste homemade, fresh from the oven. The ambience is relaxing, minimalist, and stimulating; the restaurant is set in a sleek, hip, modern interior decor. Colored lights pattern the walls and the restaurant claims the water and air are extra pure and filtered. While it would be nice to have a little more space, separation, and maybe some booths for comfort and privacy, this is really more a place to come and be social, surrounded by people, for a real "night out" feeling -go with a group of friends or maybe on a date before hitting the club. All in all, Source rocks! I look forward to see what specials and menu items they will be adding in the future.

We stopped into Source by chance on a Friday night. The owners and staff were very welcoming. When they explained that the cuisine was vegetarian we were little bit hesitant, since we are not vegetarians. We decided to try out a number of items on the menu to get a cross-section of what was available. Every dish they put in front of us was surprisingly delicious. So delicious in fact we grabbed our friend, Helga, and took her the next night. We tried out a whole new array of dishes, and found them not only tasty but beautifully prepared. I am almost embarrassed to say that we would back the third night in a row so that we could try out other selections from their extensive menu. Once again we were not disappointed. The owners, Mitchell and Andrew, made it a point to come by the table and make sure that were we were being taken care of. Some of the standout menu items were Da Bronx pizza, truffle macaroni and cheese, grilled skewers, and the Peking Quack spring rolls. Everything was a hit and there were no misses. Do try out Source the first chance you get. Your mouth will thank you.
