Great food at a great price
We love this place...excellent Chianti, garlic bread, entrees. I love the capellini with tomatoes and basil, snapper or the Dona Fugata. My husband always has the beef spezzatini or osso buco . I've eaten here for many years with family and friends, and think it's a great bargain for the price and quality. Hayes Street Grill or Jardiniere it isn't, it has a much simpler menu and ambiance, but great food and spirit. I don't understand why anyone would want to bad mouth it. I'm going to eat there tonight and enjoy it.

No thanks
If "unpretentious" means "mmm, I don't much care about food," and value means "mmm, I don't much care about food," then yes, this place is an unpretentious value. The servers were very nice but the food was lousy (not inedible, just lousy), the wine stunk, you could've shot a movie the lights were so high, and did I mention that the food is lousy?
