OMG i go here every day after school, the people are awesome, the sf 49er jerseys and posters are a personal touch. I always get a center hot pastrami with the works. avoid the rush hours on mondays and fridays from 12-1... thats when all the school kids get there. i haven't had a better sandwhich in alll 30 countries ive been to.

This place makes the best sandwich on earth. The bread is fresh and they toast it to perfection. Pair that with the shredded, not deli sliced, meats, some hot melted cheese, onions, and their special dressing and you've got a work of art. I adore this place and have been a fan since I could ride MUNI for free with my grandma. Center Turkey with the works for life!

This sandwich shop is great. I agree completely with the previous reviewer - hole in the wall, friendly people (except the putative owner, who usually seems dour), great food, great service. It's not Boulevard, and doesn't pretend to be. It's the place I go when I want a satisfying sandwich. I always order the Italiano. Toasting sandwiches is so marvelous. I can't go to the Subway chain anymore since I've found this place. I think the listed hours may be a bit off - I think they open at 11 am on Sundays, not 10.

Sub Center serves amazing sandwiches. Period. It's a little hole-in-the-wall in West Portal and the line often goes out the door during peak hours, but there is nothing else in the city like a Sub Center sandwich. I usually get either the center turkey or center cheesesteak. The key to their sandwiches is the "secret" sauce and of course, the toasting. Perfection in a roll.
