We recently had a friend from Canada visiting and took her to the Tadich for lunch. I had raved about it and told her it was a must to go to. In a nutshell it has become to well known they now hove the big head. The prices were outrageous for the amount and the quality of food. My veal was overcooked to the point it was dry, it came with 3 brussels sprouts, and I believe french fries. I only ate the veal, left the rest. I ordered a coke and got about 5 ounces with a lot of ice. $3.25 and NO refills. The waiter gave us service, period. No pleasant attitude at all. So, After 45 years, we will not return.

A cousin came to visit a decade or so ago. My first time to Tadich's. I returned a few yrs later to have the Rainbow Trout which they were out of on my 1st visit. It came w/ a variety of vegetables and super hot and great tasting fries, ea fry about the size of my thumb. The trout and the sour dough bread were also very good. The vegs thou were cool, they couldn't melt my butter. The server did offer to replace them but I was already packed to go. I returned a few days ago again for the trout and instead of a variety of vegs I got two Brussels sprouts and the thumb sized piping hot FFs had more of a potato interior than a FF interior- under cooked. The fish and bread were as good as always.

We had Tadich Grill recommended to us from a friend while we were on a vacation to S.F. Hands down, that was the best place we have ever been. It was a light hearted, buzzing and the quinessential old school restaurant. We ordered a bottle of the Chardonnay-more on the buttery side- it was the best wine I have ever had. I want to order some from a supplier. You wont be disappointed making this your go-to stop while in San Francisco. Absolutley wonderful.

I frequented Tadich years ago, and looked forward to dining there again. Alas, today I was disappointed. I make better sole at home,. Very dry, and what passes for tartar sauce, I would not serve. My dinner date enjoyed her meal, I did not mine.

Three of us got there around 615pm and got a booth right away. Oysters rockefeller verry good. Tomato quartet salad delightful with lots of crab and shrimp. Cioppono unBELIEVEable, very flavorful base and a ton of seafood. A real highlight.

Locals that we met at the ball park recommended this place. If you like Shaws crab house in Chicago and Docks in Atlantic city, you will love this place. Crowded, noisy, vintage, great service, delicious food. We had oysters Rockefeller, salmon, scallops, filet as entrees. All were wonderful, as were the sides they were served with. Great sf experience and cable car stop is right outside.
