This place is amazing. Nice intimate little family style location, but I often get delivery. It might not be the fastest delivery in the neighborhood, but it is worth every second of waiting. What else can I say? I've never had anything remotely disappointing from here. Love it.

The food here is awesome- I've never been disappointed. They have really unique art on the walls, and on the tables and menus. It turns out that it was done by a little boy (son of the owner I think) who is now grown up. I thought that was really cool! It's not fancy, and it's really small. But it's got amazing food!

I went to this place and immediately felt compelled to write a review. My friend's food came long before mine, my yellow curry was extremely mild and the clincher was immediately after we paid, the waitress came over and told us we needed to leave because someone was waiting. We literally sat there for probably 2 minutes before she kicked us out. It was really unprofessional and in bad taste. Just pay and get out. I do not recommend this restaurant. The food was average. I have never been asked to leave a table in all my 35 years.

We have been going here once a week since way back. It has a small menu of traditional Thai fare, but everything is prepared with real love and no shortcuts. I happened to look into the kitchen and saw Tawan's mother putting green papayas into the cuisineart for our salad. Most restaurants keep the salad pre-made in a bucket in the fridge. At Tawan's, the flavor of every ingredient is recognizable in every bite. This is how Thai food is supposed to be and what made it famous: that subtle flavors of meats are not overpowered by the spice and seasoning even when the customer is weeping from the exquisite pain in her mouth.

Their food is excellent. The flavors are rich and complex. Be careful when you say how spicy you want things. Their spicy means hot. The Tom Khar Gai is out of this world. I love watching people's faces when they take their first sip. The decor is sunny and clean, and Tawan's artwork is a plus too. One of my favorite spots in the City.
