The food here is fantastic, I recommend the Lox scram or any bagel sandwich. The only problems here are the weird service, and the redecorations they recently completed. Regarding the decor, the place used to be funky haight-street type of breakfast joint vibe. I can only assume the owner's wife wanted to upscale the place (like the rest of the divisadero neighborhood seems to be doing), and you can smell it. It's too pristine, and they replaced the fun local art installations with flat plasma screens playing CNN. UGH!!! Now I feel like I'm at the bank while I eat my omelet. The big menu blackboard has been replaced by a fancy printed menu board that is hard to read. Meanwhile, if you take more than 5 seconds to read the menu board you can feel the staff's eyes upon you. They seem to just want you to hurry up and order, give us money and be done with it. Which is fine because I don't come to the grind to make friends. I just want to eat, and darn if they're food isn't delicious.

I really enjoy the food, good quality, and big portions for the right price. Cool people too! A fixture in the lower haight.
