Better than the michelin star rest. we came for.
For our anniv. my husband and I came to the city to eat at a rest. that had just recieved a M star. The Grove blew it away. 2 different concierges rec. it for breakfast. W and Intercontinental. They both could not be more correct. I had a chai tea, that was the real deal, my husband had the mest moch capp. ever. I had a scramble with rosemary potatoes, and hubby had breakfast burrito. Every bite was so delicious, the ingredients were so fresh, we will now come back to the city, just for the grove.

Don't go
It's a mystery why this place is popular. Deafening, crowded atmosphere. Smug, surly staff. Mediocre food, even at moderate prices. Not many choices. After two tries, won't be back.

Quick and so good!
One of my favorite places in town.

Great Place!!
We stumbled upon this place purely by chance looking for a place to eat breakfast. What a find! From the funky decor to the quality of the food and the service, this place was terrific. Local San Franciscans should take note. I ended up going there 3 times for breakfast and once for dinner. Everything as just first rate and at very reasonable prices. My friend could not stop raving about the huevos rancheros that she had for breakfast. The orange juice was fresh squeezed. The mac and cheese was perfect. They have two locations and I can't speak for the the Chestnut St location, but the one on Fillmore was just great.
