Town's End Restaurant & Bakery
Posted by Russell on 03/27/2011
Towns End is one of our regular breakfast spots and the food is alwys excellent. Never had a bad meal. We are normally having breakfast around 9:30 am and very seldom have to wait. Although I have been later when it is a 30-40min wait. I will agree the tables for two are a bit tight but it doesnt stop us from returning. The staff is very nice but my favorite waiter is Dustin, he is really great and has a way of making you feel at home.

Went there yesterday for breakfast and was very disappointed! The wait was long and the tables are set together to close to your neighbors. The food took a long time and it was cold. They place the food in a counter that does not have any heat. Eggs were cold! You cannot split anything, because they charge a split fee! The muffins and scones tasted old and did not taste good! They are so many other places in San Francisco that have great places to eat that this one is over-rated for being one of the best breakfast places to go! I will never go there again!! Parking is a problem and for the price you pay, you can go across the street , pay less and have a better breakfast with a view of the harbor!

We had lunch here and loved the Grilled Mesquite Smoked Prawn Salad. The vinaigrette was delightful, perfect for the salad. We really liked the desserts because they were delicious and not too sweet. Everything was fresh and the service was attentive without being in the way. We were able to carry on a conversation, something that makes an enjoyable lunch ever better.

Town's End Restaurant and Bakery is in a lovely room with views of the Bay near the Ballpark. The chef is doing some very exciting things with food, especially fish. They have a Prix Fixe with three courses that is one of the best values in town. The deserts and bread are fabulous. The service is young and friendly, if a little uneven.
