Waterfront Restaurant

The seafood there was fresh and served promptly. This restaurant has a better bayview than Slanteddoor. It was really empty on a saturday night and the reservation could be made on the same day. It was a shame that the waiter poured a half glass of champaign on my guest's shoulder.....He apologised but we were seated at the same wet table and we were still charged for the full amount of champaign. .I am not accusing the small mistake anybody would make. But I believe that in order to be a great restaurant, the management should make sure that the customers go out of restaurant feeling happy even after an accident. We didn't want to cut the tip for the poor waiter and asked if we can talk to the manager to deduct the amount for the waisted champaign ($64 dollars a bottle...!!!) from the bill. The manager was really aggresive and arrogant. She kept saying that we received the piece of cake to compensate the loss(we thought we got a tiny piece of cake on the house because it was my guest's birthday and the cake came with a candle on it. We were so full but ate it out of politeness and it was tiny anyway.) They offered free cleaning service which wouldn't have helped my guest since we were headed to the next venue and she was leaving SF the next morning. The manager was not apologetic nor sincere at all. She said something to herself angrily and walked away and brought the check for us to sign. My guests were from Paris and Tokyo and they were shocked at the service level of the restaurant....I was sad and embarassed. My advice is, "If you have guests who are important to you, don't take a risk to dine at this restaurant."

Had dinner here 3/29/06. Food was just above average and portions were extremely small for the menu price. There is better value in the City.
