Since my wife is such a great fan of Tyler's food shows, our visit was especially disappointing. After dining at Prospect the following night, I was even more disappointed. We have eaten at many great San Francisco restaurants and all the greats in Vegas and have never written a review. I hope I do not need to write another. Steak Tatar was a suet paste. It was not Kobe or Wagu-which I have had much leaner!! Unedible! No one would eat it after they tried it. Crab Salad with a wedge of lettuce and crab on top. Good ingredients, but could not find the sauce, which the waiter indicated was a thin layer on the plate hidden by the wedge. Needed to ask for additional sauce to even taste it with the lettuce and crab. Sparkling water, which was obviously made in house, which is not a problem, except they did not remove the chlorine from the city water before they added the fizz. Haven't they heard of Brita?Don't try this at home-undrinkable!!! Veal chop-great quality, but it was piled high with so many other items, including croutons, all types of vegatables and sauces, it was not possible to taste the veal. Tyler is trying to do too much with American food. Give us the food you cook on your shows.

All I can say is this place has the best fried chicken I've ever tasted. Seasoned with whole rosemary and other herbs and covered in a fluffy breading, the fried chicken is by far the best thing on the menu and that is a tough feat when everything on the menu tastes so good. I also enjoyed the eggy bread, the mac and cheese, the french fries, and pretty much everything else we had at out table. The service was prompt and polite, and the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. Wayfare Tavern has something for everyone. I highly recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area. Note: The portions of every dish are massive, so bring an appetite or be prepared to take some home.
