what a great little restaurant
This restaurant is a couple blocks from my house and I love it. It is small and cozy and the people are friendly. I have tried a number of dishes and I love them all. My favorite might be the chicken soup. But don't just take my word for it, I brought some home and my roommate said the samosas were incredible. I took a friend there and she said it was her new favorite restaurant. I even took my momma there and she said she loved it. Momma is a picky one so all in all I give yamo five stars. Also you can drink coco milk straight out of the nut.

Sign says "Thai", but it's Burmese
The sign over the door says "Thai Food", but don't expect to find any here. It was a Thai restaurant years ago, but is now Burmese, which is extremely bland compared to Thai. The owner says she "didn't want to change the sign". Having lived in Thailand for years, and being married to a Thai with a Burmese grandmother, I have eaten lots of Burmese food. The Burmese food at Yamo is only mediocre. Burma Superstar in Clement Street is much better. This place is cheap, and I suppose if that is your criteria for a restaurant, it will meet your needs.

Great Burmese
A lot of people go in to Yamo and ask for Thai food. Then they write bad reviews because the food doesn't taste like Thai. It's not Thai food!! It's BURMESE! Their service was great and their food was great. YUM! I recommend going to Yamo's if you're in the mood for tasty spicy food!
